The National Association of Gay & Lesbian Real Estate Professionals, naglrep.com is proud to announce their success this past November, 2009 during the National Association of Realtors (NAR) annual meetings in San Diego. NAR policy on equal housing opportunity has been amended to include opposition to discrimination based on sexual orientation. NAGLREP celebrated their victory by sharing dinner at their 2nd annual meeting during the NAR meetings. Dick Gaylord, the 2008 NAR President and a NAGLREP member was a guest speaker at the annual meeting and spoke of the work that is ahead of us.

"It's a very exciting time for equal housing opportunity as it relates to the GLBT community" says Jeff Berger, founder of NAGLREP. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) has recently commissioned the first-ever national study of discrimination against members of the LGBT community in the rental and sale of housing.

NAGLREP was founded in 2007, includes over 250 members, and has 31 local chapters in cities nationwide. The primary mission of NAGLREP is to advocate on behalf of the rights of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) Community as it relates to housing and discrimination laws. NAGLREP also serves as a directory for the GLBT community to locate a GLBT real estate professional.
