Aqua Girl continues to shine as the nation’s premier charity women’s week

06.03.2010 – Miami, FL – Aqua Girl™, the largest women’s charity week in the country, broke new records for attendance and monies raised this year. This year’s event welcomed 11,000 women to play in the hot, South Florida sun and raised over $260,000 dollars for the Aqua Foundation for Women, making it the most successful Aqua Girl™ to date.

This year’s festivities began with the “Hollywood Glam” VIP cocktail reception, then continued all week long with a bowl-a-thon, dance parties, pool parties, a comedy night, a tea dance, a dinner party and a jazz brunch. Each year, Aqua Girl unites a diverse group of attendees and celebrity entertainers – including women of all ages, colors and cultures, – for an unforgettable week-long party.

With 100 percent of the net proceeds benefiting lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women of South Florida, attendees feel good knowing that they’re a part of an organization, and an event, that is changing the lives of South Florida’s LGBT Community. The Aqua Foundation for Women’s treasurer, Yolanda Flores, thankfully notes that, “the economy didn’t dampen people’s excitement about coming to Miami to party for a purpose.” Proceeds from this year’s event will provide financial support and critical resources to dozens of nonprofit organizations and scholarship recipients that share the Foundation’s commitment to promoting the strength, health, equality and visibility, of lesbian, bisexual and transgender women in South Florida.
